Isacco Turina is researcher in cultural sociology at the University of Bologna. He has worked mainly on contemporary Catholicism, focusing first on consecrated life (hermits, virgins) and later on a critical analysis of the Vatican’s moral doctrine on issues of sexuality, bioethics, human mobility, and ecology. He has also conducted fieldwork on the lived ethics of radical animal rights advocates.
