Giovanni Ciofalo is Associate Professor in Sociology of Cultural and Communicative Processes at the Department of Communication and Social Research (CoRiS) of Sapienza University of Rome, where he teaches Sociology of Communication, Theories of Communication and Digital Media, Internet and Social Media Studies and he is the director of the training course in Web and Social Media Marketing. His main research fields are media ecology, the dynamic of cultural production and consumption, the logic and practices of social media and transmedia. He is promotor and member of the inter-university research network “Social and Transmedia Framework” and member of “GEMMA” Observatory (Gender and Media Matters – Sapienza University of Rome).
