Giuseppe Giordan, PhD, is Professor of Sociology at the University of Padova where he teaches Sociology of Religion and Religions and Human Rights, Society and Multi-level Governance and Co-editor of the Annual Review of the Sociology of Religion (Brill).
He is member of the Council of the International Society for the Sociology of Religion (ISSR/SISR) in which he served as General Secretary from 2009 to 2013. He served as elected Council member of the Association for the Sociology of Religion (ASR) and the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion (SSSR).
He was Visiting Professor at the Renmin University (Beijing), the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris), and the University of Bucharest.
His sociological research focuses on the interaction between religion and spirituality, religious and cultural pluralism, religions and human rights.
